Common questions
Is there a cost or an API key?
No. The server is free, read-only and needs no key or sign-in. Please cite the usda538.loans page or the USDA source that comes back with each answer.
Where does the data come from?
USDA Rural Development: the Section 538 guaranteed loan and Section 515/514 active property files (both as of October 19, 2026), the FY2026 multifamily income limits (effective July 13, 2026). The server reads the same files as the pages on this site.
